Friends of Swansonville: Preserving History Through Design and Community

As part of Alcyone Reserve’s dedication to elevating brands and initiatives that matter, I spearheaded all communications and design efforts for the Friends of Swansonville (FOS), a nonprofit organization committed to restoring Port Ludlow’s oldest surviving building—the 1904 Swansonville Church.

My contributions began with building and launching the Friends of Swansonville website, designed to inform, engage, and inspire the community to support the restoration project. I also developed a digital museum, showcasing Swansonville's rich history through an interactive and accessible format, and assisted with historic asset archiving, ensuring the church's past was meticulously preserved for future generations.

In addition to joining the board, I provided comprehensive design services, including branded materials, promotional campaigns, and visual storytelling to support fundraising and awareness initiatives. Throughout the restoration process, I’ve been deeply involved in crafting a vision for the church's future as a community center and historic gallery, working closely with the board and community to bring this much-needed transformation to life.

The Friends of Swansonville project exemplifies the power of design, communication, and collaboration in preserving history while fostering community connections. It is a testament to Alcyone Reserve’s ability to combine creativity with purpose to achieve meaningful outcomes.
